Michael is originally from Transylvania, Romania and has called the Pacific Northwest home since 1990. An avid traveler to over 100 countries, his passions are for people, culture and history. Michael is President of the nonprofit Romanian-American Society of Portland and has a history of active community involvement dating back to high school where he started the English Second Language Buddy program in Oregon. For more than 25 years Michael has been a leader in revolutionary technologies and initiatives at SNIA as Executive Director and at Intel for the Global Industry Standards developed there, serving as advisor to leading companies of today, standard bodies, and government organizations. Michael holds MBA and Bachelor’s degrees in International Business from US International University, and maintains a passion for the promise technology holds for humanity’s advancement. He’s played tennis competitively, enjoys diving, is an avid foodie and holds a Sommelier certification with old world wine and bread-making skills.
