We did it! We are grateful to announce that we reached our fundraising goal of $21,500 for a new Museum Collections Freezer at Maryhill Museum of Art, thanks to the generosity of our contributors and guests at the Hooray for Hats! Spring Tea & Fundraiser, held April 5, 2025 at Maryhill Museum of Art.

How will funds be used?

The funds raised will be used to purchase and install a new Museum Collections Freezer at Maryhill Museum of Art. Controlled low temperature treatment, also known as “freezing”, is a routine method to treat selected items being accessioned into museum collections.

The freezer is expected to be operational by fall 2025. Soon, Maryhill Museum of Art will be able to process numerous acquisitions to the museum collection, including more than 220 mid-twentieth century European and American hats donated to the museum in 2023.
