Image Rights & Reproductions

Photography

Photography is allowed in the museum for personal and educational use only. Some special loan exhibitions may have photography restrictions. Commercial and other uses will require permission and a scheduled appointment. Other forms of collections reproductions, other than photography, are subject to the restrictions as noted below:

  • Commercial or promotional use of materials from the collections, or reproduction of those materials in any form, is allowed only with written permission of the Executive Director or a designated staff member.
  • Fees for such use will be assessed as appropriate by the Executive Director.
  • Maryhill Museum of Art will adhere to current U.S. and international copyright law whether the copyright is owned by Maryhill Museum of Art or by someone else.

Requests to publish photographs from the museum’s collection or for original photography require separate consideration and are subject to submission of our application form (please download and fill out). Fees can be paid through the museum’s online pay portal.

If you are requesting images for media use, please visit our press room.
