Concert: Timberbound - Maryhill Museum - Columbia Gorge

Concert: Timberbound

Timberbound is a group of folk musicians based in Portland and Seattle. They interpret, preserve, and disseminate folk music created in and about the Pacific Northwest — non-commercial music profiling the lives and work of fisherman, loggers, longshoremen, and others. Their repertoire includes folk songs about the Columbia River.

They will share the bill with Hobe Kytr, who co-founded the original iteration of the band in the 1970s. Kytr, who has more than 40 years of experience as a historian of the lower Columbia River, presented a lecture at Maryhill Museum of Art in June 2024 about the role of U.S. Coastal Survey engineer Cleveland Rockwell in documenting the Columbia River as it was prior to engineering developments. He is also an accomplished musician and folklorist.

UPDATE: This concert has been moved indoors into the M. J. Murdock Charitable Trust Education Center due to high temperatures predicted for Sunday, September 1. Seating will be provided.
