Maryhill Museum of Art, in partnership with artist Molly Johnson and Monmouth Arts, Red Bank, NJ, is excited to launch Exquisitely Connected, a national visual art community-building experience! Similar to The Exquisite Gorge Project, this initiative is also inspired by the Surrealist parlor game, Exquisite Corpse. But this time we are inviting YOU to create 8” x 8” artworks at home that will be connected digitally. Our goal is to connect creatives of all ages and abilities – virtually and literally – as each finished artwork becomes a part of a larger whole. All you need are a few basic art supplies and your creativity. Tell us about what you are feeling now, the hopes you want to express for the future, or create a metaphor for today’s world experience. Let your imagination run wild as we create a web of connectivity!
The project was designed and directed by teaching artist Molly Gaston Johnson, New Jersey, in partnership with Monmouth Arts in Red Bank, NJ. Last summer, Molly was in residence in the Columbia River Gorge, participating in Maryhill’s The Exquisite Gorge Project; we thank her for her passion for communities!
Funded with generous support by IMLS (Institute of Museum and Library Services).
