OUR INSTRUCTOR
Hannah Grenfell has studied dance and movement since childhood—ballet, tap, and various partner dances, as well as martial arts and acting. She began dancing Argentine tango in Aspen, Colorado, in 2006 with Heather Morrow and spent several years training, attending festivals, and later teaching. She moved to Portland, Oregon, in 2013, where she tango, teaches, and performs with Alex Krebs. Hannah recently had the opportunity to travel to Buenos Aires where she studied with some of the more well known tango maestros of today. Noelia Hurtado and Carlitos Espinoza, Mariana Dragone, Fernando Sánchez, and Roxana Suarez and Sebastián Achaval are just a few of her favorite instructors. Hannah encourages grounded, comfortable movement while maintaining good technique and fluidity. She believes that both lead and follow have equal opportunity of expression and responsibility within the tango embrace. Tango, like any skill, gives back what you put into it, and most importantly, it should bring you joy! Hannah offers private lessons as well as group classes and workshops at various venues around Portland and Oregon.
