Monday-Friday July 22-26, 2019 | 8:30 am to 4:00 pm daily.

Storytelling is central to human experience – it’s how we explain and make sense of the world. This year discover the power of stories at Maryhill’s Summer Art Institute. This five-day intensive program will strengthen your knowledge of art while giving you strategies for using art as an effective mechanism for storytelling in the classroom. We will explore the art of print-making and book-making as a means to create visual stories and dip into storytelling in the performing arts. The Institute is led by Maryhill’s executive director, Colleen Schafroth, and features guest artists and presenters throughout the week. Extracurricular activities can include visits to artist’s studios and regional institutions.

Cost: $195 members / $215 non-members; to register, please call 509 773-3733 ext. 20 or email education@maryhillmuseum.org.

Continuing Education Clock hours will be available at no additional cost through Washington State Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction. Three (3) credit hours will be available through Antioch University Seattle for an additional charge of $150.

Scholarship(s) are available through the Janet P. Swartz and Harriet G. Langfeldt Summer Art Institute Scholarship Fund. To learn more or apply, please contact education@maryhillmuseum.org.
