While you are at the museum, see what else is new! Our Discover Gallery for children has received an update with a brand-new mural and the Indigenous Peoples of North America galleries have a new look as well. Outdoors, walk the new ADA-accessible pathway in the William & Catherine Dickson Sculpture Garden to the right of the main entrance. Landscaping renovation for the Sculpture Garden will continue into the summer.

The Salon de Refusés and Other Images // The Columbia River: Wallula to the Sea is an exhibition that has been in the works for several years. Join Curator of Art Steve Grafe as he talks about the many works that were considered but not included in the show. He will explain his curatorial goals and the criteria used for adding select paintings and historic photographs while other excellent images ended up on the “cutting room floor.” The talk will last for about 45 minutes, followed by a Q & A period.
This lecture takes place in the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust Education Center and is complimentary with general admission tickets.

Folk & Irish Music Concert // Singing kid-friendly blues standards and originals that bounce in a country blues style (think Raffi meets Leadbelly), Parents’ Choice Silver Award-winning musician Victor Johnson performs a family-friendly selection of Americana, folk, and traditional Irish songs for St. Patrick’s Day. Learn to ink a plate and “pull” a salmon print to take home, with Curator of Education Sorcha Meek Paul. We will be celebrating our King Salmon exhibition and sharing Irish folklore for St. Patrick’s Day. This activity is available to all museum visitors at no additional cost. Adult supervision is required for children to participate.
