Event Details

Join us for the opening reception for West Coast Woodcut: Contemporary Relief Prints by Regional Artists. The exhibition features sixty woodblock prints, linocuts, and wood engravings by Oregon, Washington, and California artists. The works showcase the natural, urban, and social/cultural worlds that are found in the Pacific states. Many of the prints are landscapes; others relate to regional flora and fauna, homelessness, immigration, natural resource management, and environmental issues. All of the works are drawn from Maryhill Museum of Art’s permanent collection.

There will be a gallery tour at 3:30 p.m. with Maryhill’s Curator of Art Steve Grafe. Featured artists will be in attendance and each will have the opportunity to speak briefly about their work. This will be followed by a reception at 5:00 p.m. in Loïe’s: The Museum Café and the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust Education Center. Join us for hors d’oeuvres, wine and other beverages, and an opportunity to meet the artists.
