Join us for an online talk with Steve Wiegand, author of the new book The Dancer, The Dreamers and the Queen of Romania, which tells the story of Maryhill’s improbable beginnings and its intersection with some of the quirkiest personalities of the 20th century.
Steve will talk about how he found Maryhill, fell under its spell, and subsequently came to write this book. He also will read excerpts and answer your questions in real time.

Steve Wiegand is a former reporter and columnist for the San Diego Union-Tribune, San Francisco Chronicle, and Sacramento Bee, as well as author or co-author of numerous books, including U.S. History for Dummies, Lessons from the Great Depression for Dummies, The Mental Floss History of the World and Papers of Permanence: The First 150 Years of the McClatchy Company.
