Call For Submissions: Teachers as Artists: Examine, Emerge, Enlighten
Maryhill Museum of Art, working in partnership with Oregon Art Education Association and Washington Art Education Association, showcases teacher talent by inviting educators to participate in Teachers as Artists, an annual juried exhibition in the museum’s M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust Education Center.
In 2022 we are inviting regional arts educators, from both Oregon and Washington, to submit work around the theme Examine, Emerge, Enlighten.
As art educators create new ways to deliver arts education, both students and educators alike have been inspired to re-examine methods of engagement. This year Teachers as Artists celebrates the talent of art educators who have persevered and, yes, even flourished during the pandemic.
Our partners are the Washington Art Education Association and the Oregon Art Education Association. Juror is artist Christopher W. Pothier. A graduate of the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, Pothier uses his art to make commentary about society, human behavior and emotion.
Exhibition will be presented at Maryhill Museum of Art March 15 – April 24, 2022.
In addition to the works of art selected for inclusion, the juror will also select Best of Show, First, Second, and Third Place. Artists recognized by these selections will receive a one-year Family Membership to Maryhill. During each exhibition, teachers whose work is accepted (and family and friends) will be invited to visit Maryhill Museum of Art free of charge.

Exhibition dates: March 15 – April 24, 2022

Jury Process
Artwork will be anonymous during the jury process. Decisions of the jurors are final.
