These tours are a good way to familiarize yourself with the museum or discover something new. The tour lasts approximately 30 minutes and visitors may drop in or depart at any point.\nArtist Talk & Live Painting\nAimee Erickson, courtesy of Jeremy Fenske\nCelebrate Opening Day at Maryhill Museum of Art by watching an artist at work! Known for an engaging style and versatility in subject matter, AIMEE ERICKSON is an internationally renowned oil painter and instructor who has given lectures and demonstrations at venues nationwide and abroad. Her work will be on display at the museum as a participating artist in Pacific Northwest Plein Air in the Columbia Gorge (April 27-May 26).\nErickson will paint live in the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust Education Center from 10:30 am until early afternoon. See the completed work and learn from Erickson about painting still lifes, painting en plein air, working with natural light, and more in an Artist Talk at 2:15 pm in the Education Center.\nAbout Aimee Erickson\nA standout at plein air painting competitions, she has won both Best of Show and Artists’ Choice at Plein Air Easton, as well as Best of Show at Carmel, Sonoma, Olmsted, Laguna, and Pacific Northwest Plein Air art festivals. Erickson has been a Portrait Society of America finalist, won Best of Show at an American Women Artists national show, and is a signature member with multiple awards from Oil Painters of America.\nShe has exhibited with international plein-air groups in China and Russia, is an inaugural member of Charlie Hunter’s En Train Air expedition, and in 1997 painted the official portrait of governor of Oregon Barbara Roberts. Her work has been featured in Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine, Southwest Art Magazine, American Art Collector, and Plein Air Magazine, and on OutdoorPainter.com.
