Come explore Maryhill Museum’s world-class collection of art ranging from early 20th century European works to an extensive Native American collection. Set in a castle-like chateau on a stunning 6,000-acre site overlooking the scenic Columbia River Gorge, Maryhill Museum is one of the Pacific Northwest’s most fascinating cultural destinations and located just 100 miles east of Portland, Oregon. The museum’s permanent collection includes more than 80 sculptures and watercolors by the French master Auguste Rodin, including the only pedestal-sized plaster version of his famous The Thinker, and much more.

Open 7 days a week, including all holidays, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., March 15 through November 15.

General admission is $7, seniors $6, children (ages 6 – 16) $2.

Please note:
Very large purses, backpacks and baby-backpacs (the kind that hang from the back) are not allowed in the museum. The museum has a wheelchair and two small strollers available on a first-come first-served basis.

Cameras without flash may be used unless otherwise noted.

Please no food or drink in the museum.

Special rates for groups of 15 or more are available with advance reservations.

The sculpture garden, picnic grounds and parking are free.

Maryhill Museum of Art, accredited by the American Association of Museum, is a non-profit corporation funded by a small endowment established by Sam Hill, donations, gifts, memberships and admission fees.

Maryhill Museum of Art, its café, museum store, gardens and picnic grounds, overlook the Columbia River on Washington’s SR 14, just west of US 97 and across the Biggs Rapids-Sam Hill Bridge from I-84.

MUSEUM STORE

View of Café Maryhill

Open daily March 15 through November 15 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Café Maryhill serves gourmet coffees, beverages, deli food, fresh fruit, home-made backed goods and desserts. Seating is available inside and outdoors within view of the Columbia River and Mt. Hood. Catering services are available for groups and special events, including festive box lunches and custom treats.

If you are looking for a unique and exciting location to hold your wedding, birthday party, company picnic or family reunion the museum has the following locations available: inside galleries, lawns, picnic grounds, sculpture garden, ranch lands, Stonehenge, and Loops Road. Rental fees vary depending on scale and location of event.

FACILITY RENTAL

Consider bringing your group to Maryhill Museum of Art. It is a unique setting that has something for everyone. Group Tour Benefits

A special Welcome Orientation of approximately ten minutes is available for groups. It focuses on the romantic history of Maryhill’s founders and their dream for Maryhill.

Free Visitor Guide for each person in your group.

Free parking and a handicap accessible drop-off area for passengers.

Free admission for the tour guide and bus drivers.

The Museum Café features a variety of light lunches and offers box lunches at discount prices for tour groups with 20 or more in the party.

Admission & Discounts for Tour Groups
Admission is $6 per person for groups of 15 or more that call in advance.

Special admission rates and discounts are applicable for tour companies bringing five or more groups a year. For more information about tour operator discounts, contact the museum.

Maryhill Café
The Café features festive box lunches for tour groups. These include your choice of turkey, ham or vegetarian sandwich on a fresh roll, homemade potato salad, drink, fresh fruit & dessert. Download Information for Tour Groups (PDF).

There are lots of nearby attractions, including a full scale replica of English Neolithic Stonehenge, a petroglyph, park, restaurants, and hotels.

GROUP TOURS

Local Library PassAccess Art: A Museum Pass Program
Available at Local Libraries

In partnership with regional libraries, maryhill Museum’s “Access Art” program places free passes to the museum in regional libraries. Once checked out of the library, it allows all members of a family living in the same household (plus up to four guests) to visit Maryhill Museum free of charge. Ask your local librarian about Maryhill Museum of Art’s “free pass” program.

Participating partners are Heppner Branch Library, Irrigon Branch Library, Carnegie Union Public Library (Union), Crook County Library (Prineville), Enterprise Public Library, Fossil Public Library, Grant County Library (John Day), Harney County Library (Burns), Jefferson County Library (Madras), Lakeview Library, Paisley Library, Christmas Valley Library, Cook Memorial Library (LaGrande), and the Spray Public Library. Existing participants include libraries in Goldendale, White Salmon, Stevenson, Hood River, Parkdale, Cascade Locks, Pendleton (including Blue Mountain Community College), Arlington, Baker City, Boardman, Condon, Moro, The Dalles, Southern Wasco County Library (Maupin), Dufur, Adams, Athena, Echo, Helix, Hermiston, Milton-Freewater, Pilot Rock, Stanfield, Umatilla, Ukiah and Weston.

This special project is available to libraries of eastern Oregon through a joint collaboration between Maryhill Museum and the Libraries of eastern Oregon with funding provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, imls.gov.
