Trip to Santa Fe Indian Market
August 15–20, 2018
In August, Maryhill Museum of Art’s Curator of Art, Steve Grafe, will lead
a trip to the 97th SWAIA Indian Market in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Each
year, this event hosts nearly 1,000 of the finest Native artists working
today. The trip covers four full days and five nights and participants
will stay at a hotel that is within walking distance of the Santa Fe Plaza.
A fifteen-passenger van will be provided for travel to locations farther
afield but most activities will be enjoyed on foot, so full mobility is
necessary. Ticketed events include the Antique American Indian Art
Show, the preview of Indian Market award-winning art, and the Indian
Market Haute Couture Fashion Show. Travel to and from Santa Fe and
all meals are the responsibility of participants. The trip will be limited to
fourteen museum members and it will fill up quickly. Call Steve Grafe
for more information at 509-773-3733, ext. 27.
